Write 31 Days│ Brief│Day 24

Day 24 of 31 Days of five minute Free Writes. Today’s prompt is Brief!

BriefWe can hardly expect to go through life without facing some sort of trail, hardship or a rough season. After all, God never promised a life void of hardships, in fact, he promised just the opposite. He said we will face trails.

My baby boy, Rhonin, my second son was born this past March. He is almost 8 months old. Ever since he was born I have been in a sort of funk, I guess you could call it. I have had to readjust how I do things because I now have two children. This has been a challenge for me.

I currently am taking college classes online. Finding the time to do my homework while taking care of my children and my home has been really hard. On top of school I also am tasked with taking care of my home. Cooking and cleaning. Keeping house has always been hard for me. Messes stress me out, and thinking of all the things I have to do can give me anxiety. And it can be crippling.

There have been many times int eh last almost 8 months where I have been so overwhelmed that I just sat on the couch and watch TV. It was easier than dealing with the mess.

Having to work through my anxiety and stress these last few months has been hard; challenging and sometimes overwhelming. But me learning how to deal with this season of my life has been the best things I could ever do.

One of the things that has helped me the most is reading my Bible. Taking the time to be with the Lord every day. IT gives me that much more strength to face the days challenges. It also helps me to remember that this is a season, and it is only brief.

  1. Beautiful. Those days… the ones with a tiny human at home, they are missed here. My youngest is 8. She will be my last. I’m glad you are finding time for God in the morning. That is why my “moment” post is all about today. I’d be lost without that little bit of time, and for a while after the birth of a couple of my littles, I was lost. PPD found me. I totally get the “funk” and more. You are added to my daily prayers with all mommas of littles who are just trying to figure out how to fit them in with the rest of the family and “chores” of daily life. Please continue to remember that this is a season that goes far too fast. Enjoy it – even if it gets a little dusty. 🙂
    Your FMF 31-day neighbor #5.
PS thanks for stopping by, even if it was on my arguably shortest post day. 🙂
